Indra Nooyi

There was a time when it was commonly held that a women’s place is at home, or rather the kitchen. Today, if one were to hear such a thing, we would be screaming with examples to prove how that is so not true. India’s history is peppered with tales of amazing women who have set an example for the masses, leading from the front. Indra Nooyi is one such amazing woman who has proved that nothing is impossible if one is courageous and determined.

 Women's Dritish Open Golf Tournament Born in Chennai, Indra Nooyi graduated from Madras Christian College. From there, she went on to do her masters in Marketing and Finance from the world renowned Indian Institute of Calcutta (IIM-C). Working with well known companies like ABB and Johnson and Johnson (J&J), Nooyi was slowly but surely making a mark in the Indian business world.

Not one to be easily satisfied and constantly trying to learn new things, Indira Nooyi went to Yale University to pursue her master’s in Public and Private Management. In USA, she worked for a small time with a couple of well-known brands before finally working for Pepsi, which was to become her launchpad to the top of the world of business.

She is often labeled as a “superwoman” and with good reason. This Chief executive officer of PepsiCo has been ranked 4th in Forbes list of world’s top influential women which is no mean feat. She overcame the many troubles she faced in her quest for success, making her country and women the world over proud of her achievements!
